Coolant is key to the health of your car!

Think of the coolant system as the heart of your vehicle. Neglect it and, well, you may be in for real trouble. And just like with your heart, there are warning signs when things aren’t right – coolant drips or puddles under the car, temperature gauge reading is higher than normal, steam from under the hood, antifreeze on the floor of the passenger compartment and, of course, a warning light on the dash. It could be a clog, corrosion, leaking hoses or worse.

Your coolant system pumps vital coolant to the radiator and cooling system to prevent overheating and expensive engine damage. When it’s not working correctly and if it’s not fixed quickly, you could be looking at huge repair bills, even the possibility of the need for a new engine!

That’s why it’s important to check your fluid level regularly and add coolant if necessary. To be really safe, you should also change your coolant every 40,000-50,000 miles, and have your hoses, belts, radiator and water pump checked too – all are critical components to the overall health of your coolant system.
